Canada's CEO Summit convenes top scale-up leaders in Vancouver
The Council of Canadian Innovators' two-day retreat brought together 150 of Canada's top scale-up CEOs to focus on building globally competitive homegrown firms.
Canada's CEO Summit ran October 7-8 at Vancouver's Rosewood Hotel, hosted by the Council of Canadian Innovators (CCI) and bringing together roughly 150 of Canada's top scale-up chief executives.
The two-day retreat's agenda centered on leadership development and on how homegrown firms can scale into globally competitive companies — a recurring theme as policymakers and industry groups push to grow Canada's own technology champions rather than ceding the field to foreign-headquartered competitors.
The summit is one of several Canadian business-and-economy gatherings clustered in the same window this year, following September's first-ever Canada Investment Summit in Toronto and alongside a run of academic conferences on business law, entrepreneurship and corporate finance held across the country in early October.
